Congratulations to Eduardo Straub for being recognized as one of Fitwel’s Top Ambassadors this year! His company, StraubJunqueira, achieved Best in Building Health awards for three record-breaking projects in Brazil: Highest Scoring Commercial Interior Space (Built) for Layout Itau in São Paulo, Brazil and a tie for Highest Scoring Commercial Interior Space (Design) for GOLGI - DUTRA in Arujá, São Paulo and GOLGI - JUNDIAI in Jundiaí, São Paulo. To date, his company has led Fitwel Certification for seven commercial interior buildings, three commercial buildings, three warehouses (Fitwel Commercial & Industrial sites), and four residential buildings – and according to Eduardo, that’s just the beginning!

ES: Best in Building Health is a recognition of our hard work to create better and healthier places to live and work.

How does Fitwel align with StraubJunqueira’s mission?
ES: Fitwel is aligned with the Social concept of ESG, which is a core part of StraubJunqueira's mission and values. We want to pursue Fitwel for all buildings and commercial spaces in Brazil. Our goal is to bring greater well-being, quality of life, and health to people and we understand that this is related to the environments in which people work, live, and spend their time.

Why did you choose to become a Fitwel Ambassador?
ES: The first time I heard about the Fitwel Ambassador Program was in 2017. As a green building consulting firm, we were looking for new certifications focusing on occupants' health and wellbeing. So, it was a natural course for me to become a Fitwel Ambassador and introduce this new concept to our clients. Nowadays, we have been working with many commercial buildings and offices, residential buildings, and warehouses that choose Fitwel as their certification to meet their goals.

What do you value most about being an Ambassador?
ES: Being a Fitwel Ambassador has impacted my life and career in a very positive way. Regarding my career path as a green building consultant, Fitwel provides me with knowledge and a new vision of what is best for people in buildings and interior spaces. Regarding my personal life, becoming an Ambassador allows me to share with my family the healthy building concepts that I utilize every day. Because of the Ambassador Program, I researched air quality, lighting and thermal comfort as part of a capstone project for a master's degree that I completed in 2022.
