As conversations around the stability of federally supported programs grow, it's important to underscore what makes Fitwel unique. Fitwel is not owned or operated by the federal government, and it does not receive federal funding.

Fitwel is owned by Active Design Advisors, Inc. (ADAI) and operated in collaboration with the Center for Active Design (CfAD), a mission-driven nonprofit, and grounded in rigorous, evidence-based public health research. While the Fitwel Standard was originally created in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is not owned by the CDC and is maintained and advanced independently.

We’re dedicated to delivering lasting value for the real estate industry—empowering users to meet health, sustainability, and financial goals for every property through proven, science-based strategies.

Whether certifying a single asset or scaling across a portfolio, Fitwel is a future-proof solution designed to adapt, evolve, and lead.
