Do you believe that building health by implementing people-centric strategies and prioritizing ESG is a business imperative?
Paul: “Yes, implementing people-centric strategies can foster the success of a building and lead to a competitive advantage. When you have strategies that inspire people to change their behavior, their actions will improve the health of a building, causing a ripple effect on the surrounding community and environment. This can increase the building’s lifespan, tenant retention, and overall value.”

What does Best in Building Health mean to you?
Faye:
“Best in Building Health means creating a better built environment, linking people to their community and enhancing occupants' daily experiences.”

Paul: “Best in Building Health means the best built environment for all, including occupants, local communities, and the surrounding environment. The design and policy choices of these buildings positively impacts the health and lives of both those using and affected by the space. As a Sustainability Consultant, my values tend to fall with what is best for the environment and future generations. The relationship between the natural environment and human health and wellness means that improving the quality of one can directly impact the other.”

Why did you choose to become a Fitwel Ambassador?
Faye:
“I heard about Fitwel from visiting a building that was Fitwel certified. Upon seeing the building, I wanted to help other property management companies create similar experiences for their occupants.”

Paul: Many of our clients are looking for ways to improve the health of their buildings, and it is important that I am continually learning new and innovative ways to promote health and wellness. My passion for sustainable and healthy living aligns with Fitwel’s vision for a healthier future, and becoming a Fitwel Ambassador was a natural next step. It has provided me with a deeper understanding of the certification strategies, allowing me to offer my clients greater insight and better service.

What in particular have you valued most about being an Ambassador?
Faye:
Becoming a Fitwel Ambassador has advanced my career, as the credential itself holds high credibility. From the teachings of Fitwel, I have become more aware of the built environment and the long term impacts it can have on my day-to-day life. I now have a greater appreciation for buildings and companies who are committed to achieving Fitwel certification and providing a better environment for their staff and occupants.
