StraubJunqueira, one of Brazil's leading sustainability and healthy building consulting firms, has been named Best in Building Health for three of the healthiest commercial projects in São Paulo, one of the world's most populous cities!

This award-winning sustainability firm is breaking records by spearheading the healthy building movement in Brazil through Fitwel Certification, scoring three awards for their efforts in the commercial workplace sector. To date, StraubJunqueira has led 7 commercial interior buildings, 3 commercial buildings, 3 warehouses (Fitwel Commercial & Industrial site), and 4 residential buildings… and plans on expanding Fitwel to all buildings and commercial spaces in Brazil.

At the helm: Eduardo Straub, co-founder of StraubJunqueira and Top 20 Ambassador, who we recently spoke with about his accomplishments and goals.

What Fitwel strategies did you use to achieve your healthy building goals?
ES: Our goal was to have our sites positively impact occupant wellness and to do so, we focused on many of Fitwel’s strategies in all projects. Some of the most important that stand out across them all include outdoor fitness areas, restorative gardens, and space for fruit and vegetable gardens.

How have occupants responded to these strategies?
ES: We could tell that the occupants were happier with their surroundings as a result of our efforts and they continue to engage with these health-promoting strategies on a daily basis.

Did you have any Ambassadors working on this project?
ES: Yes, we have several Ambassadors at our company who understand the link between health and the built environment and Fitwel helps to make this link a reality for our clients. The Ambassador Program has been extremely helpful for us to advise our clients in securing high-scoring certifications.

How does achieving Best in Building Health align with your company’s goals?
ES: Earning our Best in Building Health awards indicates that we are on the right track with our commitment to ESG as well as the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. These awards, along with other project certifications, will undoubtedly increase the Golgi portfolio's value at the entity level. Building Health is completely consistent with the ESG mission and values of StraubJunqueira to build health for all.
