(Adai), an affiliate of the Center for Active Design (CfAD), the sole operator of Fitwel, today announced a strategic capital investment from QuadReal Property Group (QuadReal), a global real estate investment, operating and development company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.

NEW YORK, NY; February 7, 2023 — Fitwel announced today new insights to support the correlation between implementing health-promoting operational and design strategies and value in real estate, advancing its efforts to quantify ESG from a people-perspective. The announcement comes on the heels of Fitwel’s publication of the Guide to Measuring “S”, a resource that outlines 5 key areas and metrics for quantifying S in ESG reporting for the real estate industry.

Best in Building Health honors best-in-class real estate companies and individuals who are leading the healthy building movement by example, leveraging Fitwel’s data-driven, scalable technology platform to set the bar for excellence in building health. We are delighted to announce an expansion of Fitwel’s Best in Building Health awards for 2023.

We know that sleep has a significant impact on our mental health, which is why Fitwel includes many strategies that can help building occupants get better sleep, such as increasing access to daylight, locating workstations near windows, providing room darkening shades, limiting light pollution, and minimizing interior and exterior-sourced noises.

Weir’s Plaza, a mixed-use tower with office space, four chef-driven restaurants, and the Weir's Furniture Flagship store in Dallas, was recently certified under Fitwel’s Multi-Tenant Base Building v2.1, achieving a 2-Star Rating. Located in the urban Knox Retail District, the project's goal was to create a people-centric mixed-use development that preserved the surrounding area's rich history.

Fitwel Partner, RE Tech Advisors (formerly LORD Green Real Estate Strategies) chose Fitwel certification for 300 West Sixth to assist its client and Fitwel Champion, Lionstone Investments, in its ongoing commitment to the health and wellness of building staff and tenants.

For the iCity team, achieving Fitwel Certification is the first milestone in striving to support employee health. Continuing to optimize the workplace environment can make employees feel happier and achieve a sense of belonging.
